There were three races, all of which were scratch, which means all the swimmers start swimming (theoretically) at the same time.
The slower swimmers were in the first race and fastest in the last race. Anthony Cleaver won the first race. The second race was very exciting, with Gary Duffield and John Tierney battling for the entire 110 yards. Nick Adams narrowly beat Cameron Kelly in the final race.
