Mike Small is another of the club's great characters from the past. Mike had a horrific motorcycle accident in his youth which left him with one arm, a withered leg and in continuous pain. Mike viewed this as a hindrance, not a disability. His wicked sense of humour never left him and is reflected in the shape of the Mike Small cup adapted to his specifications by club silversmith Bill Phipps: half an arm and a wonky base. A fond friend to all that swam with him, Mike passed away in 1993.
Mike Small - a regular through the 80s and into the 90s

7.40am - twenty five minutes before sunrise

A dank and gloomy start to the club's 2022 fixtures. Both the air and the water were a mildly nippy 6c.
Anne Mannix is the current cup holder, having won the 2020 series

No photo of Anne with the cup, so here is one of the ever popular Ppod who always accompanies Anne to the lake
Young Mr Adams was lucky enough to have his very own personal flip-flop monitor
