Backdrop to the need for the sewage debate

Four years ago, Thames Water was fined £20 million, for dumping the equivalent of more than 1,700 Olympic swimming pools of sewage into the rivers Thames and Thame.

Southern Water is the latest water body to upset the nation.

In March 2021, the Environment Agency stated that raw sewage was discharged into our rivers on more than 400,000 occasions for more than 3 million hours in 2020.

Finally, if you were stuck up to your neck in sewage, and someone threw a brick at you, would you duck, take it on the chin, or vote?

Yours swimmingly
