Closure of Serpentine Swimming

Lockdown 3 Swimming Restrictions

WHAT THE NEW LOCKDOWN GUIDANCE MEANS FOR OUTDOOR SWIMMING AND THE SSC

Following on from the Prime Minister's statement last night that announced a third national lockdown, The  Royal Parks (TRP) have asked the Club to stop all swimming in the Serpentine until further notice.

Many of our members work in the NHS or other essential services or are shielding and it is vital that at a time when they are giving their all to support us, we do our bit to support them by following Government guidance  and staying out of the Serpentine.

The Royal Parks will be locking  the gates to the beach area and placing ‘No swimming’ signage around the Lido.

This is a very difficult time for all members, but together we will get through this. On an optimistic note, the waters of the Serpentine will be so much warmer the next time we go in!
