Good morning swimmers. Summarised below is an update of Boris Mavra's progress whilst he crosses the English Channel.

Boris was scheduled to swim at 2am Sunday morning with the boat Suva. His observer is Sam and the boat pilot is Neil Streeter who is working with Jock. Neil has been escorting Channel Swimmers for over ten years. His escort boat 'Suva', is a 37ft steel trawler yacht motorcruiser. She has RYA/MCA Small Commercial Craft & Workboat registration: Class 2 (60 miles from safe haven).

At 01:41 Boris started his swim this morning with his loving wife Vanessa, Leanne and Spanish Daniel onboard to look after him. After 47 minutes, Boris had settled into his swim rhythm with 2.13 miles completed and working at a stroke rate of 60 spm in nice and flat water. The subsequent text update said that he had completed two maxim feeds swimming in a beautiful calm sea. Boris is swimming well and the lights of France and Dover are visible to all on board.

A screengrab of his progress is shown below. You can see Dover and the Sandettie buoy marker as well as the data from his latest position
