No Hassle HOF result for Deirdre

Re: Ward

The Ireland Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame inducted it's first Serpentine SC member at the Irish coastal town of Donabate on Sunday.

The 'Ward' referred to, was of course Deirdre Ward, who attended the event with her parents, Liz and Ronan, to proudly accept the prestigious prize, in recognition of her outstanding open water swimming achievements.

In 2016, Deirdre successfully completed a two-way swim of the English Channel. Deirdre's swim was the 43rd two-way swim of the English Channel; and she became the 16th woman of 30 swimmers to achieve this distinction. Deirdre also swam the English Channel in 2012 and 2015.

Quiet and unassuming, to join the Hall of Fame 'the HOF' was no hassle for Deirdre. We'll just have to keep a bay watch on where she swims next, but for now her plans are under lock and key.

Congratulations from all your friends at Serpentine Swimming Club Deirdre.
