Gibraltar too hot for Gerard?

A beautiful sunrise, swans struggling through freezing waters as solid as a summer slushy for the Serpentine swimmers and visitors for our Saturday morning swim.

Gerard Olivero made his way from the warmer waters of Gibraltar to have a dip in the Serpentine. A New York swimmer and Manhattan Island Marathon Swim organiser arrived but without swimming trunks. He turned down the invitation to borrow someone else's gear. Next year perhaps.

There was no racing due to the ice, but we had a pleasant neoprene-free dip.
